Photography in the natural world requires a special kind of seeing which demands time and patience. It is well worth the effort whether or not a camera is in hand, but occasionally, we are granted the additional gift of an image which can capture a piece of that remarkable experience.
I have been a physician practicing in New Hampshire and Vermont for over 30 years. Over that time, as a member of the Conservation Commission in my home of Chesterfield New Hampshire, I have used my photography to promote the protection and appreciation of the town's wild lands. My work to celebrate the natural beauty of Chesterfield was the trigger for a much more intense and comprehensive photographic exploration of uniquely character of our New England landscape. I enjoy trips away from the region, but I always come back to my center.
In recent years I have been transitioning my focus from medicine to photography, writing and teaching. I enjoy photographing throughout New England, but have concentrated on the Monadnock Region and southern Vermont. I am a featured artist in a number of local galleries and mywork is often seen in regional print, web publications and in business installations throughout the country. For years I have published a calendar celebrating the beauty of The New England country-side in all seasons. All of the proceeds from his New England Reflections Calendar have gone to support the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at the Cheshire Medical Center. I have a strong commitment to sharing my excitement about the special beauty of our region and publish my weekly "Getting It Right in the Digital Camera" blog, focusing on photography in New England.

My images have been digitally captured in high-resolution. They are initially recorded in RAW format and then carefully edited to better approach the natural experience. It is my goal to protray not only the fact but also the Feel of the places that I Visit. Prints are made on an high resolution Epson R3000 large format printer using the archival Ink s. I use acid free archival paper and conservation grade mounting and matting materials. Acid free hinging avoids the use of potentially damaging dry mounting adhesives. Larger images do require dry mounting for proper display. With care these images should remain brilliant for a lifetime, meeting or exceeding the life of standard photographic prints.
All images are double matted and are available in various sizes and framing.
